Subject: Student Support During Possible College Support Staff Strike

Fleming Students,

We are pleased to hear that Peterborough Transit have reached a tentative agreement with the City of Peterborough meaning, there will not likely be any disruption in service.

Changes to transit significantly impact students and as such Fleming SAC has been monitoring contract negotiations. As always, we are focussed on the health and wellbeing of students. While Fleming SAC has not been involved in these negotiations, we are encouraged to hear that a tentative agreement has been reached. 

As a stakeholder in Peterborough Transit, Fleming SAC will continue to advocate for access to reliable transit for students. We are optimistic that the tentative agreement will be approved but will continue to monitor and provide updates to students if circumstances change.

Fleming College Recognizes Student Leaders

Peterborough, ON – (Dec. 7, 2022) – Fleming College’s Student Administrative Council (SAC) located at the Sutherland Campus in Peterborough, ON, has donated $3,415,500 to Fleming College.  

Fleming College students celebrated some of the school’s top leaders at their annual awards ceremony held in the Steele Centre on Friday, April 22, 2022.  This is the first in-person leadership celebration since the pandemic and students and Fleming Student Administrative Council, faculty and staff were on hand to recognize these upstanding individuals.

The media are invited to attend a motivational Q&A with Fred VanVleet and Hosted by Kate Beirness entitled “Bet on Yourself” on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.

The media are invited to attend an All Candidates’ Q&A on student issues to be held on September 13 at 3:00pm on WebEx. The event will be moderated by Fleming SAC President Alannah Kennedy.
