Electoral Officer
The Electoral Officer is a temporary, independent contractor position responsible for managing and facilitating the election process for the Fleming SAC Board of Directors. This role includes overseeing nominations, candidate compliance, campaigning, and voting procedures to ensure a fair, transparent, and impartial election. Reporting to the Elections Committee and REO, the Electoral Officer plays acritical role in maintaining election integrity and enforcing Fleming SAC’s election policies and by-laws.

Fleming SAC is now accepting applications for the position of Electoral Officer for the 2026
General Election. This a contract position that works closely with the Fleming SAC Board Chair
to ensure a fair, impartial and transparent election process. This position is open to all full time
Fleming College Students who attend the Sutherland Campus.

Key Resposnibilities:
1. Administration of Elections and any potential referendums
2. Ensure the election regulations of Fleming SAC are enforced.
3. Informing students that a vote is being held, explaining the right to vote, and piquing their
interest in the campaign
4. Overseeing the registration of candidates
5. Approving the candidate’s budgets, monitoring their election expenses and reimbursing
their expenses in accordance with Fleming SAC policies.
6. Ensuring that candidates or referendum committees respect the spending limits and
present their election expenses reports and receipts by the set deadlines
7. Organizing the candidate forums/speeches and question period chaired by a moderator
8. Responding to requests for information from electors and candidates.
9. Deciding on the measures to take following infractions of the election regulations.
10. Establishing and respecting the overall election budget.
