Vice President Student Affairs

 

Hours of Work:

12.5  hours per week (minimum requirement)

 

General Scope of Duties

 

To oversee, market and insure awareness of all planned social events and activities approved by SAC.

Supervisory Function

  The Director of Programming is directly responsible of overseeing the SAC approved clubs and ensuring the completion and following of the club package.

 

 

       

 

 

Financial & Budgeting Function

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

·         Responsible for monitoring and expending budge lines relevant to his/her initiatives (e.g. special events)

·         Input on changes to budget lines relevant to his/her initiatives

·         Review programming budget on a monthly basis with the VP Finance.

Communication and Representation Function

·         Attending the changeover conference of CSA

·         The Director of Programming must be visible at various events during the year, including (but not limited to) Orientation, Welcome Week, Student Representatives year end Banquet.

·         Verbal reports to the SAC Board at every meeting to report on activities.

·         The Director of Programming is a voting member of the following SAC committees and boards, including (but not limited to):

·         Boards of Directors

·         Steele Centre Operating Committee

·         Pub Board Committee

·          

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

     

 

 

 

·         Knowledge of SAC internal operations.

·         Knowledge of the working structure of  Fleming College

·         Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·         Excellent public relations skills.

·         Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.

·         Management skills: ability to work well with others, written and oral communication skills, delegation, conflict

·         Event planning an asset

 

 

 

Effort & Responsibility

 

 

·         Effort required to exercise judgment in discipline situations

·         Attend all internal and external SAC social events, or appoint another board designate to attend.

·         Responsible for reviewing, recommending and approving the Preliminary budge, Annual budget and Budget Review through the Board.

·         Time demands exceed 12.5 hours per week

Training and Experience

·         Previous SAC experience an asset.

·         Previous experience with other governance an asset.

·         Previous event planning and or marketing experience an asset

·         Previous Leadership experience an asset.

·         Word processor, spreadsheets, Internet web browser.
