Vice President of Student Affairs

 

The incumbent is responsible to the President.  Reporting to the incumbent is the Director’s of Campuses and the Director of Student Programming.  

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

1.      To attend all Executive, General, and Extra-ordinary (leadership development, etc)      meetings and report on the items of concern to the student body and other items       connected with the responsibilities listed below.

 

2.      To exercise the duties of the President during his/her absence or inability.

 

3.      To perform such duties as the President may so delegate from time to time.

 

4.      To meet with the President on a regular basis.

 

5.      To liaise with outside agencies on behalf of and when designated by the Board of Directors.

 

6.      To meet with the Director’s of Campuses and Director of Programming by-weekly either individually or as a group.

 

7.      To monitor the College Parking regulations.

 

8.      To attend all conferences as delegated by the Board of Directors.

 

9.      To serve on the Education and Employment Equity Council, Sutherland Campus Operating Group, Academic Advising Committee and other committees which the President may deem necessary with the Board of Directors approval.

 

10.   To complete all planning necessary for the Leadership Sessions and the Constitution weekend in consultation with the General Manager and Consultant.

 

11.  To act as a liaison among  students, the Board, faculty and the College Administration, to fairly represent a student, if requested, when involved in a dispute with an Academic Appeal.

 

12.  To assist the Director’s of Campuses with the foyer/Steele Centre displays and activities.

 

13.  To meet with the Vice President of Academics at least three times during the term, with the first meeting to commence within the first two months of being in office.

 

14.  To address the student concerns/complaints upon acceptance of the issue in writing.

 

15. To prepare a year end report by March 31 for submission at the annual General Meeting.

 

16.  To assist in the day to day operations of the office.  Required minimum of 2.5 hours/week, each in office and front office.

 

17.  To assist the Director of Programming with the planning, organization, and   implementation of the Orientation(s) and the Formal.

 

18.  To monitor and liaise with Peterborough City Transit when deemed necessary.

 

19.  To have above working knowledge of the Students Right and Responsibilities.

 

20.  To have above working knowledge of the Constitution.

 

21.  To assist and administer K.P.I’s to the best of their ability in the fall and winter semester.

 

22.  To sit on the Health Plan committee with the Director of Finance and the Health Plan Administer.

 

23.  Oversee and Administer the operation of student approved clubs and organization in accordance with Bylaw section 10.
