Steele Centre at Fleming College House Policy for Customers

At the Steele Centre, our business is selling food and beverage. We are dedicated to our customers’ pleasure and satisfaction. When it comes to serving alcohol however, our staff will not serve alcohol to patrons to the point of intoxication or who are already intoxicated. Nor will we serve patrons who are troublesome, dangerous or under the legal drinking age.

  • Monitoring the Door
    At the entrances and exits and on the floor, our staff is on duty to check ID, deny entry to rowdy or intoxicated persons and prevent overcrowding.

    Entry will be denied to any person who appears to be intoxicated, belligerent or troublesome. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any person who matches this description. After 9:00pm, entrance is restricted to persons 19 years and older or for approved Special Events.
     
  • Food
    We offer a good selection of foods and snacks at all times that alcohol is being served.
     
  • Alternative Beverages
    We offer competitively priced non-alcohol and low alcohol beverages. Staff will offer competitively priced non-alcohol beverages and free pop to designated drivers and expectant mothers.
     
  • Staff
    All our staff have been trained (and retrained) in the legal and safe service of alcohol and how to prevent violence and injury.  They recognize signs of intoxication and know how to intervene to keep customers safe. If you require assistance please ask.

    Staff is prohibited from drinking alcohol on the job.
     
  • Transportation
    Staff will gladly assist customers who need a safe ride home. Please ask staff for assistance. 
     
  • Underage Customers
    Under legal drinking age customers are welcome. However, they will not be allowed to consume alcohol.

    After 9:00pm, entrance is restricted to persons 19 years and older (except for Special Occasion events). At that time, please carry your ID with you.

    ID will be checked. Only an Ontario Driver’s Licence, LCBO BYID card, Canadian Armed Forces ID card, Canadian passport or Canadian Citizenship card will be accepted.
     
  • Customers’ Alcohol Use
    Staff will assist customers to drink alcohol safely. Staff will not serve customers to the point of intoxication.

    The law prohibits use of illegal drugs.

    You must be 19 years and older to be served in the bar.
     
  • Dress Code
    To maintain a safe and pleasant environment, clothing that has gang colours or contains racially inflammatory or sexually explicit messages is prohibited.  Persons deemed by staff to be inappropriately dressed staff will be denied entry or asked to leave at the discretion of staff and management.
     
  • Capacity Limits
    In order to maintain a safe, fun and efficient environment, we must deny entry when the premises are at our licence’s capacity limit.
     
  • Where Alcohol is Permitted and Not Permitted
    Please do not bring your own alcohol on to the property. We reserve the right to confiscate your alcohol if you do.

    Alcohol use is always prohibited in the parking lot.
